Our Experience
We arrived at The Back Street during peak dinner hours on a busy Saturday night with no reservation—after being turned away by three other packed restaurants. To our surprise and relief, they welcomed us in and quickly found us a table. That kind of service already earned our gratitude, but what followed made the evening truly memorable.
Our server, Rebecca, was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. She gave great food and drink recommendations and was absolutely lovely with our toddler, chatting with her and making her feel like one of the regulars. The energy between the team—especially Susie and Kacey—was top-notch. You could tell this staff genuinely enjoyed working together. As former restaurant workers ourselves, we appreciated the seamless teamwork and the atmosphere it created.

Menu & Must-Try Dishes
The Back Street restaurant offers a thoughtfully curated menu that balances hearty British comfort food with refined touches. They cater to a variety of dietary preferences, and everything we tried was flavorful, well-seasoned, and clearly made with fresh ingredients.
✅ Recommended Dishes:
- Breaded Brie—golden, gooey, and served with a sweet chutney. Perfect as a starter.
- Chicken Kyiv—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and bursting with garlicky goodness.
- Baked Alaska—A nostalgic, perfectly executed dessert with a warm meringue crust and cool ice cream center.
✅ Drinks:
The cocktail list is impressive for a small-town restaurant. Drinks are well-mixed, strong, and flavorful, whether you’re ordering a gin and tonic or something seasonal and crafty.
✅ Kids Menu:
There’s a dedicated children’s menu, offering crowd-pleasers like chicken nuggets, burgers, and pasta. Portions are generous, and they don’t skimp on quality just because it’s for kids.
Atmosphere
The vibe at The Back Street is welcoming and relaxed. Calming yet colorful walls, soft lighting, and a mix of rustic and modern décor make it a cozy spot for both casual meals and date nights. Even though it was full, it never felt chaotic or loud—just lively in the best way. Tables are spaced well, so you don’t feel cramped.
Do You Need a Reservation?
Yes we highly recommend making a reservation at the Back Street restaurant especially for dinner service. While they do their best to accommodate walk-ins, this place fills up quickly. You can call directly or message them on Facebook to secure a spot.
Parking
There is street parking available directly outside the restaurant on Queensberry Street. There are also a few public parking lots within walking distance, such as Loreburne Shopping Center Car Park and Brooms Road Car Park.
