💡Final Notes

Australia felt refreshingly straightforward. Public transport was easy, people were friendly without being overbearing, and we never felt unsafe. We didn’t run into any scams, but basic street smarts go a long way—especially in crowded tourist areas.

Tipping isn’t a big thing, and you’ll barely need cash if you’re sticking to cities. Just grab a local SIM card if you plan to wander farther out—signal can fade quickly once you’re beyond the main towns. Everyone speaks English, of course, but the slang might catch you off guard. No one warned us “thongs” meant flip-flops.

We found Australia family-friendly and great for solo travelers. The weather can swing from beach-perfect to scorching fast, so pack for the season and stay flexible. And yes, you’ll probably see kangaroos. We’re already looking forward to coming back—next time with more time to explore the outback and the places we missed.
