Our Experience-
We made it! Welcome to Gava Mar, Spain! A cute beach town on the outskirts of Barcelona, and the first official stop of our Seth and Sara World Tour 2018. 
We chose to visit Gava Mar, Spain first because of its lazy beach town vibes we’d been reading about. We wanted somewhere to go where we could relax for a day and catch up on the jet lag. And this place was perfect for that.
Seth and I arrived at our castle-esque hotel super late. Like 2 am. Which is kind of scary, but also pretty exciting. Our room had mirrors on the ceilings. What kind of place did we book?! We had no idea what to expect when we woke up. Waking up and stepping outside that morning was like waking up on a different planet. The most vibrant color green surrounded us. Vines crawled up anything standing. We walked around for about 30 minutes just exploring/looking for some food. Unfortunately we did not find any breakfast, but got to explore this little jungle street. It gets hot and muggy pretty early in the morning, so we decided to walk to the beach.
Time to Eat and Swim
Once we got down to the beach, we stopped for some much needed breakfast. We passed a cute little place called Chez Bea. They were selling breakfast crepes and espresso. We almost searched for another restaurant. I knew we would be in France in a few short weeks, and I felt like having a crepe here would be like cheating! But then, I figured I would need something to compare French crepes to, so this would be my baseline. Problem solved. We ordered one sweet and one savory crepe and a couple espressos. Wow. Good luck beating this France. Who knew heaven was located on a beach in Spain?
Platja de Gava
The sand is just a few steps from the restaurant. We found ourselves a spot and posted up. The Balearic Sea is a beautiful thing. It was the perfect temperature. Cold enough to cool you down, but warm enough to dive right in. W couldn’t help but stare and giggle at the people starting to surround us. I had read about most of the beaches being topless, and European men always wearing tiny little speedos, but that doesn’t really prepare you for seeing it with your own eyes. I do love the comfortability that everyone has with their own bodies, and I’m sure it is such a freeing experience. Maybe I’ll add it to my bucket list. After a lazy day at the beach, we made our way back to the hotel for some much needed sleep.
Being in a new country for the first time is such an exciting experience. So much planning, so many nerves, and so many modes of transportation to get here. Once you’re there it feels like such a weight off your shoulders. Congratulations you made it! You can breathe again! That is probably not the best description, but it’s the best one I got. Why not experience it for yourself?
