First launched in 2004, the Pilsen Christmas Market may be one of the newer holiday markets in Europe, but it brings a cozy, old-world charm that feels timeless. Centered in the heart of Republic Square, this festive market transforms the city into a Christmas postcard.
Expect over 100 charming wooden stalls, all uniquely decorated and showcasing Czech craftsmanship at its best. Expect to find artisans crafting goods on-site—from loom weaving and blacksmithing to stalls full of handmade ornaments, toys, and cozy knitwear. It’s an amazing place to find truly special gifts.
Make sure you don’t leave without ringing the large wooden bell near the nativity scene—locals say it makes your holiday wish come true!

We found street parking about a 2 minute walk away by the Mlýnská strouha. There was a pay station located at the end of the street, and luckily there was a lady walking by who informed us about it!
There are plenty of parking garages in the area, and something known as P&R Car Parks which is a parking lot partnered with public transportation. A ticket to the lot gives you access to travel anywhere in Pilsen including transfers and a return trip.
Yes—especially if you’re already traveling through Czechia. It’s smaller than the big-name markets, but packed with heart, flavor, and handmade charm. Pilsen is one of those towns that surprises you in the best way. It’s beautiful, festive, and has a truly local feel. You might not plan your whole trip around this market, but if you’re anywhere nearby, it’s 100% worth the detour.
If you’re looking for something more off-the-beaten-path with fewer crowds, this is your spot.
