Overview:
We frequented Little Bay multiple times while staying in the area. There are a lot of food options around, but the location and views here are the best. It sits along the Bay of Kotor and has beach access. You can post up all day long on the patio, eating, drinking, and taking dips in the water. It’s a perfect place for a day out.
The size of the menu is great. They have a sufficient amount of options and a good mix of local cuisine and all around favorites. All of the food I saw coming out looked and smelled great, and were good sized portions.
They have a breakfast menu that has the staples, but we never made it in before noon.
All items are decently priced and pretty much right in the middle of the surrounding restaurants. For the quality of the food, portion size, the views, and the convenience of being able to jump in the water, I’d say the prices are spot on, if not a steal.
The Food
The pizzas at Little Bay are delicious. I highly recommend the Diavolo. The chili peppers they put on top are super flavorful and not too spicy. The food does take a long time to come out, but the bar is located right outside, and with the drinks flowing, the ambiance, and the scenery, there really is no rush to get your food. Unless you need to be somewhere.
We ordered ice cream once and it happened to be the strangest thing ever! It was so hot outside, and since we had walked a ways to get there, we needed something cold and refreshing! The ice cream had this great texture. Airy, almost mousse like. It had a really nice flavor. We all ate as fast as we could since we didn’t want it to melt. When we finished we all jumped in the water, and when we came back in from swimming, the ice cream was still there. Not melted. How did it not melt!? It was a really hot and humid day, and that ice cream stayed strong. I don’t know what was added to it to make it not melt, but it was a miracle.
If we ever find ourselves back in this part of the world, we would definitely come back to dine at Little Bay.
Customer Service/Kid Friendliness:
The service here isn’t the best, but it wasn’t terrible. We read a lot of reviews stating they got some shiesty service, but it is mostly younger looking kids who wanted to stand around and talk to each other more than run food. Also, a little bit of it may have to do with the Montenegrin way of life. Easy going.
The same hostess was always out front and she was always very nice and friendly. We never had the same server, and every employee we encountered was curt but nice. There were a few times when we thought we’d never receive our food, but eventually it would come and they would bring us everything we needed.
We did see a few children here, but not as many as I’d expect. I don’t believe there was a kids menu, but there were some simple staples on the menu that most kids would like such as french fries and pizza.
Accessibility:
Located in Dobrota and right along the Bay of Kotor, you definitely have to walk here. There is little to no street parking available. It is about a 5-10 minute walk to the Old Town walls. The location, food, and vibes make it a popular spot for tourists and locals.
