Overview:
We visited Sandals Ochi, Jamaica in mid October. This all inclusive resort completely exceeded our expectations. For the price, we knew it was going to be nice, but everything was far superior to any other resort we’ve ever been to. We stayed in the rooms which came with butler service, and it absolutely made the experience so much better. The gentlemen who were assigned to us were so attentive, great at predicting what we wanted, and we never once had to wait for anything. I was lucky to celebrate my birthday, and get engaged here! And they helped us (aka my husband) get everything ready to surprise me, and to celebrate us. They decorated our room with flowers and set up the bathtub for me on my birthday! They even wrote Happy Birthday in flower petals across the bed. It’s the little touches that made this the most incredible experience.
Food
The food here is out of this world. Every restaurant was fantastic. Super fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared. Before this trip, I wasn’t a huge sushi lover. The sushi restaurant here changed my outlook forever! I’ve never eaten so much sushi, and to this day haven’t had better.
The Jerk Shack is super popular and gives off the best smells. It draws you right in. The Italian, pizza, and seafood restaurants were definitely all worth going to. We left each restaurant having had such a great experience.
The buffets were laid out well, constantly being tended to, and the food always tasted fresh. The drinks at every bar and restaurant are so good, and strong. Before arrival they ask you what kind of alcohol you would like your mini bar stocked with, and they give you huge bottles! As soon as you run out, or your bottle is half full, they restock with more.
Extras
We took an excursion to Dunn’s River Falls which was a really awesome adventure! A bus took everyone who had signed up to the falls where we all held hands and hiked up. We were all encouraged to jump in and swim! You can swim right under some of the falls which makes for the perfect photo opportunity. The whole excursion lasted a little over 3 hours, which felt like the perfect amount of time.
Sandals Ocho Rios offers a number of local excursions hosted by Island Routes. I highly recommend checking some of these out whether you’re staying at a resort in the area or arriving by cruise!

If you are looking to be pampered, in every sense of the word, this resort is for you. Yes, it’s expensive, but it is worth every single penny.
Before we left we took advantage of a deal to return within a few years and get a huge discount. In those few years we ended up having a baby and covid hit. We were still able to use that deal to return.
Customer Service:
I cannot say enough good things about the staff here. Every need is met in a timely manner and with a friendly face. They really pay attention to detail. The entire staff treats you like you’re a long lost friend! From the moment we called to help with some booking questions, to the moment we were dropped off at the airport, we had a great experience with each and every person.
Kid/Family Friendly:

Accessibility:
Once you arrive at the Montego Bay Airport, you will collect your luggage and find the Sandals lounge, which is stocked with snacks and drinks, and await your bus. It’s easy to find. The bus ride took about 1 hour 45 minutes, and the bus driver did give everyone the option to stop for a rest. We stopped at a jerk chicken restaurant that had a souvenir shop next door and restrooms. We were there for about 30 minutes. The bus driver made our ride fun and we were there before we knew it!
