We arrived at The Back Street restaurant in Dumfries, Scotland right at the dinner rush on a Saturday night, with no reservation, after being refused service at 3 different prior restaurants because they were too busy. They quickly found a table and sat us right away. Just for that we were so thankful! Our server, Rebecca, was just so great. She gave great recommendations and was so amazing with our toddler. Our daughter still talks about their chats! The drinks were strong and tasty, and our food was delicious. There is a kids menu available. Everything we ordered tasted amazing, perfectly seasoned, and it’s obvious they use fresh ingredients. Great menu selection, and large drink menu. I highly recommend the Breaded Brie, Chicken Kyiv, and the Baked Alaska! We ended up being there right up until they closed and never once felt rushed. Shout out to Susie and Kacey who were so nice. I love seeing good teamwork in a restaurant, and these girls worked great together. Thank you all for a lovely and memorable experience. We can’t wait to visit again.
Customer Service:
Impeccable service. Even though it was busy, we never had to wait long for food and drinks. All of the staff worked well together, helping each other with tables and running food. As a couple who has spent most of their lives working in restaurants, watching the teamwork made us both so happy. Rebecca sat and talked with our daughter for a while which made her feel so special and seen. Thank you Rebecca for making her day! Susie and Kacey were also so nice, helping run food to our table, and making some good drinks!
Accessibility:
There is street parking directly out front of the restaurant. I am unsure if there is a parking lot. I highly recommend making a reservation!
