We stayed at the Motel Punt 14 in June 2018 for about 50 Euros. What a steal! We were looking for an affordable place near the beach in Gava, and this place delivered! It is located about 10 minutes from the Barcelona-El Prat Airport, and 5 minutes from the beach. The beach is great. Long stretches of soft sand, gentle waves, and the water temperature was perfect. Cool enough that it was refreshing, but warm enough that you could get right in.
We took a taxi to the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona which took about 20 minutes, and cost around $10. Not bad at all. It’s in a small neighborhood, a little off the beaten path, so finding a taxi took a little bit of time, even though the hotel called one for us.
Gava is the perfect little town just outside of Barcelona if you would like to venture out of the busy metropolitan city to enjoy some peace and quiet in a relaxing beach community, and for a fraction of the price in the heart of the city.

The gentleman at the desk was very helpful and was able to call a cab for us whenever needed. The bed was comfortable, large shower, and clean room. We did notice that there was an abundance of mirrors in the room. Mirrors covered the walls and the ceilings. We later learned that this is a “romantic” hotel where you can rent rooms hourly!
I would recommend Motel Punt to anyone visiting Spain, especially Barcelona, but wanting to get out of the busy city and save some money!
