Florence, Italy Restaurant
While on a family trip to Florence, Italy, we were in search of some high quality food, without spending our life savings, and somewhere with a view of the Piazza del Duomo. We read a lot of reviews and researched a ton of restaurants on the train ride in before coming up with 2-3 different spots, just in case one was super busy or didn’t have the outdoor seating we were craving.
We ended up at Il Bottegone. There was a good amount of people there, the menu posted outside looked amazing, and it had stunning views of the Duomo. Oh, and when you peek inside you are greeted with beautiful displays of desserts and gelato. I was sold.
We visited this restaurant in July 2023, and what a memorable experience. The location is the best part. Perfect views of the Duomo and all of the stunning architecture. Sitting outside, drinking an Aperol Spritz, eating good food and enjoying the view (and the company) is what a trip to Firenze, Italy is all about!
The food was incredible! The bruschetta and the ravioli stuffed with burrata were among our favorite things on the menu.
Inside of the restaurant is really nice, classy, welcoming and clean, and the dessert display is just drool worthy.
The service was great. They rearranged a few chairs for us so our family of 6 could sit together comfortably. Drinks and food came out in a timely manner.
The prices of food and drinks were great given the quality of the food and the location!
