Overall:

After experiencing a last minute train cancellation (due to the strikes in the area), we were scrambling to find a place to stay. If you don’t know much about London, know one thing. It is expensive. We were having a hard time finding a place to stay within our budget until we stumbled upon Novotel London Waterloo. It was still quite pricey, but cheap for the area. I was a little worried because it was considered a “budget hotel” for the area, but it ended up being an awesome hotel.

It is in a great location, with walking distance to Buckingham Palace, the River Thames, Big Ben, and just a few minutes drive to Waterloo Station. The lobby of the hotel is very clean and modern, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are great. Spacious, clean, comfortable beds, and good sized bathrooms. A kettle with tea and coffee is provided. The hotel is very kid friendly. Upon arrival, our toddler was given a little Novotel stuffed animal, and inside the lobby there is a little kids’ corner filled with toys! Our daughter thought this was the best thing she’s ever seen. The hotel has everything you need with parking on site, a restaurant that serves breakfast, and a gym. Next time we are in the area, we will definitely be staying here!

Kid Friendliness/Customer Service:

Excellent staff. Very welcoming and great at giving recommendations to nearby shops and restaurants. They were great in calling us a cab very early in the morning. Great communication.

Accessibility:

Awesome location. Short drive to Waterloo and St Pancras train stations, and walking distance to the city and all it has to offer. They do a great job of listing nearby points of interest and how long it will take to get there via walking or driving. You can get tickets at the station or online at RailEurope.
