Our Review of Cinders For Tea, Shanklin
What a super cute tea room! We had been looking for the perfect place to have our very first “afternoon tea” in the UK. We went to all of the top rated, pricier spots in town, all of which were closed or unable to seat us, so when we walked past Cinders we decided why not. It ended up being the best “why not” of our trip! Meg was so great. She could tell it was our first time (are we that obvious?!) and she gave us spot on recommendations. She was also so good with our toddler and even made her a balloon animal!
The menu has a lot of great options. The biscoff rocky road, cherry almond scone with all the fixins, crumpet with honeycomb butter, and the pesto mozzarella croissant were the highlights of our tea! Everything was super fresh, the vegetables crisp, and the desserts perfectly sweet. So much food for such a great price! Our daughter was so enthralled with the size of the tray that came out, beautifully displaying all of our treats. She is now a huge fan of afternoon tea, and expects all of our “tea times” to look like this!
The inside of the restaurant is clean with cute decor. All of the tables have vintage postcards on them, and cute sayings on all of the signs. It’s the epitome of a cute, cozy tea room. There are also a bunch of toys and books to keep the kids busy while you relax!
Thank you so much for the best afternoon tea experience! I am so glad we stumbled upon this place. I don’t think the other “top rated” places would have given us such great memories. We will definitely be back to Cinders on our next trip to Shanklin!
If you are every on the Isle of Wight, I highly recommend stopping here!
