Overview:

Needing to get from Valencia, Spain to Kotor, Montenegro as a family of three with a toddler, we scoured the internet for flights that were within our budget, and would get us there on a schedule that was beneficial to us. After much research, we ended up booking tickets through Swiss Air. Booking the flight was quick and easy.

Our first flight was from Valencia to Zurich, Switzerland on Swiss Air flight LX2143. After being able to spend a day in Zurich, we caught our next flight, on their sister airline, Edelweiss Air flight LX8414 from Zurich to Tivat, Montenegro. Both airlines were great, but Edelweiss Air was a much better experience, especially when traveling with children.

Check in was smooth, as was boarding the plane. Everyone we encountered from the people at check in, to the crew on board, were all very friendly and welcoming. Great customer service! A little bit after take off they gave our daughter a cute drawstring backpack filled with goodies! An activity book, colored pencils, and a game! It was very unexpected and so thoughtful. It was a short flight but we were still offered drinks and given these delicious chocolate chip buns, and a piece of Swiss chocolate. We have flown on a lot of planes, and this was one of the best experiences we’ve had as a family. We will definitely be flying Edelweiss Air again!

Flying with Kids

Edelweiss Air was one of the best experiences our 4 year old has had on a plane, and she has flown a lot! The on board crew was so good with her. They sat and talked to her before take off and got her excited about flying. Most people on airlines talk to us about her. They ask us what she would like to drink or if she’s finished. On Edelweiss, they asked her directly and she loved that. It boosted her confidence and made her feel seen. Also, receiving the goodie bag just made her day!

They do offer a special kids menu on the flight, which you can choose when you book your tickets. They even offer a special menu for babies. Out of all of the airlines we’ve flown, this was the most kid friendly.

Edelweiss Air also offers a great in-flight entertainment system with movies, games, and music for kids, along with a meet and greet with the airline’s mascots.

They also offer child care services for unaccompanied minors.
