Overview:
We had a long layover and the Hilton Zurich Airport is a great stay option if you find yourself in a similar situation, or plan on staying a few days. They offer a shuttle from the airport to the hotel, which was easy to find, the driver very nice, and was a quick drive to the hotel.
It is a little pricey here, but that is normal for this area.
The customer service was great. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and extremely helpful. They helped us get a cab to the airport the next day, which was supposed to be a flat rate if the hotel set it up for you, but unfortunately our cab driver did not honor this rate (he claimed the hotel did not specifically ask for this rate). There is a shuttle back to the airport, we just left before they started running.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. Mini fridge, kettle with tea and coffee, great shower, and comfortable beds.
There is a grocery store and a few restaurants about a 5 minute walk away. We opted to grab some food from the store and have a little picnic on the walk back up to the hotel. There are benches along the way that offer beautiful views.
If we ever come back to Zurich, Switzerland, we will definitely consider staying here again!
Kid/Family Friendliness:
Their website claims this is a great place for kids, and they should get some sort of “kids welcome” and there are other kids amenities upon request. Our 4 year old was with us at check in and check out, and we were not informed of any of the kids amenities, nor was she offered any kids welcome. I would have asked about it when we arrived, but unfortunately I did not know it was an option at the time. Not a big deal since we were there for a short time, but do know that this is offered.
Accessibility at Hilton Zurich Airport Hotel:
There is a big parking lot out front of the hotel. It is a 5 minute drive to the Zurich Airport, and about a 15 minute drive to the city center. Again, there is a shuttle to and from the airport (you do have to pay a small fee for the ride back to the airport. Still cheaper than a cab). There is a small shopping center a 5 minute walk away. Aldi’s grocery store, cafe, wine shop, and a dinner restaurant.
